The future is in our hands - virtually!
We're sorry, but this discussion has just been closed to further replies.
Mathematics lessons would have to be some of the most boring and uninspiring experiences that we ever inflict on students. Learners often find it difficult to relate mathematics lessons to the rest of their natural, physical and social worlds.
Creating, sharing and reviewing videos about maths topics and concepts is one way of engaging their multiple intelligences and having some fun along the way.
Scripting the video involves linguistic, interpersonal, visual and logical intelligences (at least). If the video involves an outdoor situation / application, then naturalist intelligence can also be involved. Acting in the video (or animation of inaminate objects) can bring in the spatial and the bodily-kinesthetic. Keeping a production diary, or blogging the entire process adds the intra-personal.
Making the video is relatively easy these days, with the proliferation of webcams and handycams now available, but how / where do we get to publish it?
TeacherTube, of course!
There's even the possibility of adding a transcript / lyrics for those whose ears can't keep up with the modern sound.
Check out the incredible array of videos on the Math Channel at TeacherTube.com - better still, get registered and get busy!
